About Us

Having 13 KTM adventurers available, for the tours, to the sacred untouched and unspoilt places of outstanding natural beauty, means we can look after the group very well indeed. Primarily touring around Bhutan, Sikkim and Darjeeling areas, we also  tour into India, Nepal, Tibet and China. All our equipment is looked after by our Managing Director Kinley Tshering and our team of mechanics and guides based in Bhutan.

Kinley is a native of Bhutan and has led many motorcycle and cultural tours in Bhutan, Sikkim, Nepal and Tibet. He knows the Himalayan region very well and has a lot of passion for Adventure Motorcycling and is always looking for the next challenge. Kinley was the first man to take a  KTM bike expedition to Mt. Kailash and Mt. Everest Base camp, which was a great success. He started the tour in Bhutan, rode through Nepal and into Tibet.

Kinley has traveled extensively in the USA and Europe. After his graduation from India with a major in English Literature, he went on to study Tourism Management in Austria and lived a year attending the Tourism Management school in Salzburg Austria, where he found himself hooked on adventure touring, and had the idea of taking the very successful KTM machines back to Bhutan, and that’s just what he did. Having been a tour guide for trekking and cultural tours for many years he knows the ropes very well indeed. Dealing with tourists is second nature to him and this time it is fuelled with his passion for riding bikes, and that has made his dream come true. Since the tours started in 2004, Bhutan has been a very well kept secret by adventure tourists from Europe, America, Australia, and Asia.

Chris Major, now Director of Himalayan Adventures UK project teamed up with Kinley several years ago to promote and oversee bookings for the tours. Chris comes from a motocross and enduro racing background, and has over 20 years riding experience. Chris is lucky to have family based in Bhutan and has travelled the region extensively. Chris not only knows the area very well and has a unique insight to Bhutan which is a massive bonus when touring. In addition he has invested in the KTM fleet based in Bhutan with the purchase of 4 new bikes and he intends to continue building and renewing year on year.

Based in Telford, Shropshire, the always joking Chris is supported by his ever smiling wife Niki, who are both on hand to offer advice to anyone wishing to tour the Himalayan region. You will see them at several major bike shows through out the year and if you dont, they're here on tour !
